Our Identity
Nestled in the heart of Champagne, our House passionately cultivates 23 hectares of vineyards, located along the southern strip of the Montagne de Reims. Our parcels thrive in four of the most prestigious villages of the Champagne appellation: Louvois, Bouzy, and Mailly-Champagne, classified as Grand Cru, as well as Tauxières-Mutry, classified as Premier Cru.
A demanding and delicate grape variety, Pinot Noir is renowned for the meticulous care it requires. Yet, it is through patience—allowing it ample time to mature—that its full potential is revealed. At Max Cochut, this noble grape is more than just a choice; it is our signature, giving birth to wines of unparalleled finesse and elegance.
Thriving in the cool, chalky soils of our terroir, Pinot Noir represents 80% of our vineyard. With the Héritage collection, we have chosen to give it the time it deserves to reach its full expression. These cuvées benefit from an exceptional aging period on lees of eight years on average, unveiling a subtle bouquet and remarkable aromatic complexity.
Because Champagne is, above all, a wine of celebration, we created the Inspiration collection—a range that honors the vibrancy of Chardonnay while enhancing the unique character of our terroir.
With an aging period on lees of four years on average, this collection, though younger than its elder sister, still benefits from a maturation three times longer than the standard. The result is a perfect balance between freshness and aromatic complexity, offering cuvées designed to accompany life’s most memorable moments.
